Our Statement of Faith

GOD

There is only one true God. God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14

JESUS

Jesus is the Son of the one true God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and was crucified, taking upon Himself the sins of the world. He was resurrected on the third day, ascended to the right hand of God, and will return to complete His Father’s redemptive plan. Matthew 1:23, 25; Luke 1:26-35; John 5:26-29; John 10:15; John 10:30; John 14:9, Romans 1:4; Romans 3:24-25; Romans 4:25; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:5-10; 1 Corinthians 15:20, 23; 1 Peter 2:21-25

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He convicts men of sin, draws men to Jesus, and leads, guides, counsels, teaches, and empowers believers. He gives gifts to believers as He wills to accomplish God’s mission on Earth. At the moment of salvation, he baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. Jeremiah 31:31-34; Matthew 28:19; John 16:7-9; Acts 1:5; Acts 2:4; Acts 5:3-4; Acts 28:25-26; Romans 8:29; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 2:22; Hebrews 10:15-17

SCRIPTURE

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is without error of any kind and is the ultimate authority governing our lives and the church. Matthew 5:18; Matthew 24:35; John 10:35; John 16:12-13; John 17:17; 1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21

MAN

Man is the creation of God and made in His image. Man was originally created to be sinless and eternal. Through free will of choice, man sinned, bringing condemnation and death to the human race. Only the grace of God can restore the broken relationship between man and God, and that, only through the shed blood of Jesus. Genesis 2:7; Genesis 2:15-25; Genesis 3:1-19; John 3:36; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Ephesians 2:1-3; 1 Timothy 2:13-14; James 3:9; 1 John 1:8

SALVATION

Salvation is offered to all who freely accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation is a new birth and is a work of God's grace, whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart, wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace. John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19

THE CHURCH

A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is the body of Christ, made up of born again, baptized believers, and not a building or location. Our purpose is to magnify God, to minister to believers, and to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth and make disciples. The church is led by Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, governed by Elders, and served by members. 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 4:15; Ephesians 5:23-32; Colossians 1:18; Revelation 19:7-8

BAPTISM

Baptism is the symbolic representation of a permanent change wrought by the Holy Spirit at the time of salvation and is done by immersion, following the New Testament example. Acts 2: 41; Acts 8:35-39; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12

THE LORD’S SUPPER

The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
